Vinyl VS. Digital Formats
It is known to true audiophiles that vinyl records can sound better than cd's or mp3's. The whole thing with digital formats is that they are small and very unconspicuous meaning that the output of sound is sometimes low and frequencies are dropped out. With the vinyl record the disc is large but so is the sound. The diamond stylus tracks the pits in the record and produces the music.
It All Counts On The Needle
There are plenty of stylus's and cartridges available and you will see how the qaulity all depends on the price. Needles range from about $20 to up in the hundreds. Some good ones for DJing are Shure, Ortofon and Technics. For just listening there is Pickering and Audio Technica.
